Are pre-existing conditions also covered?

Yes, this option is available when taking out pet insurance. A pre-existing condition is defined as a medical diagnosis that occurred no more than 24 months prior to the time of taking out the insurance. If the diagnosis or treatment occurred more than 24 months ago, it is no longer considered a pre-existing condition and is therefore covered.

What is the deductible for pet insurance?

With the exception of the optional additional coverage for pre-existing conditions, there is no deductible for each visit to the veterinarian. However, there is an annual excess, the amount of which can be chosen when taking out the pet insurance (CHF 0, 150, 300, 500, 1,000, or 2,000). In addition, depending on the coverage and age, it is possible to insure a reimbursement rate of between 80% and 100%.

Up to what age can a pet insurance policy be taken out?

Which treatments are not covered?
